Ten Hill Place Hotel is owned by The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, one of the oldest medical incorporations in the world, with a history stretching back over 500 years. Profits from the hotel and from events and functions held on the College’s premises are invested back into supporting the activities of the College and its Fellows and Members around the world.

Breakfast in the Hotel is an enjoyable experience with over 50 items to choose from, a hot buffet, eggs made to order, smoked trout or kippers.  If you prefer the cold buffet there is a variety of fresh fruit, meats, pastries and you can even make your own muesli.

Our Seasonal Menu offers a wide choice of freshly prepared dishes using locally sourced produce. which obviously changes with the seasons!   It is served in Ten Wine Bar from Midday and in No. Ten Restaurant from 5.00 pm until 9.30 pm.

Ten Wine Bar serves an excellent variety of wines supplied by Corney & Barrow, local ales and a wonderful selection of malt whiskies, gins and other spirits.  The cocktail menu is a must for those who enjoy an aperitif before dining.

We are delighted to announce Alan Dickson has won Regional Award again this year for Edinburgh and Lothians.

Alan Dickson is our Head Chef for No. Ten Restaurant and 10 Wine Bar. 

Alan likes to cook with fresh local produce and he believes few places have a better natural larder than Scotland. His thoughts on restaurant menus are simple -  Alan believes when dining out you should experience something you cannot in your own home. Your food should always exceed expectations.

Our Restaurant has also been named Informal Fine Dining Restaurant for Edinburgh and Lothians.   Both Alan and the Restaurant will now go to the National Awards in April.
