Laguna de la Nava Tempranillo Reserva Bodegas Navarro Lopez 2008

A Reserva wine must legally see a minimum of 36 months in cask or bottle with minimum 12 months in cask. This wine spent 12 months in French (60%) and American (40%) oak barriques before bottling to add body and spice, with a further 2 years bottle ageing to soften tannins and add complexity. Spicy plum and damson fruit aromas on the nose, with toffee, sweet spice and bramble fruit on the palate.

Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Roccastella, Villa Bizzarri 2011

Ruby red in colour with tints of violet, the Roccastella has an intense aroma of ripe red fruit with some delicate spice and balsamic notes. The palate shows juicy red fruit character with some savoury flavours and soft tannins – very typical of the Montepulciano grape from this area.

A blend of Colombard and Ugni Blanc from Gascony, South West France. Fermented atlow temperatures, to maximise primary fruit flavours, this has aromas of lemon, green apple and hints of stone fruit. The palate is vibrant and zesty with Gascony’s hallmark fine acidity and refreshing citrus finish. This is an infinitely versatile dry white – appetizing on its own but with the class to partner food.
