Ten Hill Place is situated next to the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, approximately 10 minutes walk from Princes Street or Edinburgh Castle.
St James Quarter, the vibrant destination offering an impressive array of shops, boutiques and restaurants is within easy walking distance.

Ten Hill Place Hotel has a very limited number of parking spaces available and these can be used by resident guests on a first come, first serve basis. Parking at the hotel is charged at £20.00 per night and should be paid at Reception on arrival.

We are also delighted to confirm that we have Electric Car Charging Facilities installed, and this service is available for guests.

If the hotel car park facilities are not available there is an NCP Car Park in Holyrood Road which is approx 7-8 mins walk and this can be accessed 24hrs per day.

By Rail

Edinburgh Waverley Station is 10 minutes’ walk from the Hotel. Please exit Waverley via the Market Street opening.

Take a right and then 1st left onto Cockburn Street and follow the road/hill until the top. Take a left of the top of Cockburn Street onto The Royal Mile. At the 1st set of lights, take a right onto South Bridge and continue along this route until the Royal College of Surgeons is on your left on Nicolson Street, opposite the Festival Theatre. Take the next left into Hill Place and the Hotel is on your right hand side.

By Bus

Inter-city bus services terminate at the St Andrew's Square Bus Station. Buses from Princes Street (stops on the side of the street lined by shops- [north]) are very frequent. Services passing the Hotel include numbers 3, 5, 7, 8, 14, 30, 31 and 33.

A Lothian Buses iPhone app is available to download from the iTunes app store free of charge. This app gives you up-to-date information on all of the buses that pass Surgeons’ Hall.

By Tram

The Edinburgh tram route covers 14km from Edinburgh Airport all the way to York Place in the city centre. Stops at Haymarket and Edinburgh Park stations and Ingliston Park & Ride connect trams with rail and bus services along the way.

Every tram stop has ticket vending machines where you can buy Single Tickets and Day Tickets. Return Tickets are also available for journeys to or from Edinburgh Airport only. The ticket vending machines accept most debit and credit cards (£3 minimum spend) as well as 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p, £1 and £2 coins. No change is given.

Access by car to Ten Hill Place Hotel can be via many routes. You are therefore advised to go onto a route planner to map your journey. You will be provided with this discount upon checkout. Please feel free to drop your bags at the hotel before parking.

As a health organisation with strong green credentials, we encourage cycling. There is on-street bike parking in front of Cafe 1505, Nicolson Street, and a larger area outside the Lister Building on Roxburgh Place. Our nearest Just Eat Cycle Stations are Bristo Square and Simon Square.

By Plane

The Airlink bus service departs from just outside the domestic arrivals terminal and the journey to the city centre takes just 30 minutes. Buses leave approximately every 10 minutes. The final destination is Waverley Bridge.

Alternatively, the Edinburgh Trams also depart from the airport to the city centre and the journey takes approximately 35 minutes. Trams depart approximately every 10 minutes.
