Richard Ibbetson named Dean

The RCSEd’s Faculty of Dental Surgery has elected a new Dean. Richard Ibbetson was elected in March and will be formally appointed as Dean at the Faculty’s AGM in September. Professor Ibbetson, who has served as a member of Dental Council since 2000, has been the Director of the Edinburgh Postgraduate Dental Institute for the last 11 years. He is also Professor of Primary Dental Care at the University of Edinburgh and Honorary Consultant in Restorative Dentistry with NHS Lothian. Professor Ibbetson has held a number of roles within the Faculty, including acting as Dental Council’s liaison with its Regional Advisers and serving on specialty advisory boards.

An MFDS lecture is pulling in crowds of students all over the country

The College’s touring MFDS lecture is half-way through its programme of dates, giving undergraduates at UK dental schools an insight into the examination.
