Doing the Best for Children: Are We Up to Date?
1-3 September 2011, The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh
The RCSEd’s Faculty of Dental Surgery is to host a joint international conference with the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), with special discounted rates for Fellows and Members.
Held from 1-3 September at the RCSEd, ‘Doing the Best for Children: Are We Up to Date?’ will bring together experts in paediatric dentistry to discuss dental care and issues affecting children from the USA and the UK.
Patricia Baxter, Chair of the RCSEd’s Advisory Board in Paediatric Dentistry, said: “Doing the Best for Children – Are We Up to Date? is an exciting new venture with the AAPD and promises to be one of the most relevant meetings for those who provide clinical dental care for children of all ages.”
Clinicians are gaining a better understanding of the carious disease process, the healing of traumatised tissues, and the aetiology of malformed teeth. Also, the availability of modern medicaments and materials means we have to ask: what care is best for each child? The development of safer general anaesthetics and sedation techniques enable more children to cope with receiving dental care – are we able to offer the best for each child?”
With renowned international speakers, this conference will provide a stimulating look at the best in the clinical management of children. Are you up to date?”
