|College returns to Myanmar|
|Tuesday, 19 February 2013|
In January, the College examinations were re-established in Yangon, Myanmar after a gap of seven years. This highly successful diet of the MRCS Part B was held at the University of Medicine 1 and at New Yangon General Hospital and was made possible by the efforts of the Rector of University of Medicine 1, Professor Than Choa and the Professor and Head of Department of Surgery at the University of Medicine 1, Professor Htun Oo. Together, they provided excellent facilities and a wide variety of clinical cases for this examination. The candidates proved to be of a high standard with pass rates comparable with our existing diets of the MRCS. This examination represents the start of a whole programme of professional support for our surgical colleagues in Myanmar.
